When was the last time you woke up in the morning and said to yourself “I’m checking something off my bucket list today”? Ed Bassmaster, going on 43, made the decision to learn how to do a wheelie on a bike at the age of 40.
“When I was a kid growing up (youngster) I would have recurring dreams of being able to do wheelies through the city streets. For miles. In fact several miles. And kids would stop and cheer me on. And I always felt like the man. And I always thought, ‘one day I’d love to be able to do a wheelie’ and honestly I was having those dreams since I was 7 or 8 years old.”- Ed
What a boss! They say 40’s the new 30, but let’s be serious, most 30 year olds would probably complains that too many kids are doing wheelies around the city. If we can learn anything from this video, it’s that the phrase “life is short” may be a little played out. Sure, we never know what will happen next, but let’s not hold ourselves to society’s standards for what “acting our age” is. Thanks for the inspiration, Ed! You and Shia Labeouf have the right idea.
