Whether you have a date or not, Galantis is sure to fill Valentine’s Day with good music and good vibes at their sold out show at SoudGarden Hall. Although relatively new to the name Galantis, the Swedish progressive house duo consists of two well seasoned producers rising from the music industry and should not be taken lightly. Christian Karlsson is better known as one of the men behind the popular indie pop band Miike Snow. While Linus Eklow has produced and toured independently under the name Style of Eye.
After their hit single “Runaway (U & I)” had massive success, the duo made their way through the some of the largest music festivals in the world, including Lollapalooza, Ultra Music festival, Coachella and Electric Daisy Carnival. Their highly anticipated debut album Pharmacy, quickly produced several well received tracks among the EDM community including “Peanut Butter Jelly”, “Louder, Harder, Better”, and “In My Head”. Galantis’ unique progressive house sound is best showcased through their memorable hooks, accompanied with rhythmic piano intro building up through drum, bass and high-hat percussion drops. The combination of all these components produce a crescendo of instant dance floor grooves that guarantee to have you dancing all night long.
Galantis has already sold out 90% of the shows on their (North American) Louder, Harder, Better Tour. Which shows that you do not want to miss Galantis’ first performance in front of a sold out Philly crowd!
If that isn’t enough, the duo is very interactive during their sets and like to incorporate live aspects to their shows including drum machines and cymbals. Hopefully their mascot, the Seafox, will come along for the party and make for a great night for seafoxnation (us)!
Opening for Galantis is CID, a young progressive future house producer from New York City who brings a bit of a deeper vibe to his sets. Notably, CID has recently worked on a song with cascade to produce “Us” and has collaborated with Don Diablo to remix Alex Adair’s “Make Me Feel Better”.
CID has also released his new single “No!” on Spinning Records, along with a few singles on his soundcloud over the past couple of months. He is definitely coming into the scene with a boom and will for sure be an exciting way to warm up for Galantis. so make sure you beat the cold lines and get there early for CID, Canberra, and Alien Fuel.
