Psychedelic rockers The Bright Light Social Hour bring the electric love church to Underground Arts all the way from Austin, Texas.
The Bright Light Social Hour set to make a pit stop in the City of Brotherly Love during their first leg of their North American tour with California natives SWIMM and Philly surf rockers PALMAS. This Philly show is definitely not The Bright Light Social Hour’s first rodeo. Last time I saw these guys play in Philly where they performed at in a small DIY venue in west Philly only a few blocks away from Drexels campus called the Rathaus. Even though its been four years since I last saw them I can still vividly remember how they had the whole crowd shaking and grooving along side tracks like “Shanty” and “Back and Fourth”. Now, the band has just recently released their new album where they display their new psychedelic sound that is sure to take you through a journey of groovy psychedelic spacial exploration that is sure to make your body move. We were lucky enough to talk to front man Jack O’Brien to learn more about the album, partying and time travel. Fellow supporting acts SWIMM also bring a psychedelic rock vibe to their music with a western California beach influence. Seeing them perform without a doubt will make you miss those beautiful summer days we all love. But, don’t forget there to get early to support Philly’s own PALMA as they set the tone for an incredible evening at the Underground Arts with The Bright Light Social Hour with their kick ass surf rock sound.
